Need a saw, drill, or other tool? Try the library.
A beautiful example of community sharing and collaboration, the Seattle Tool Library loans out tools in the same way a regular library does books. You can borrow the tools for a week, and if nobody else has reserved them, you can request to extend the borrow time.
They also host workshops and facilitate project collaboration opportunities such as backyard gardening.
Have a tool you would like to donate? If it is in good shape, contact the library to let them know. And look at it this way: you can free up shed space and just borrow back the tool if you ever need it!
Do you have something like this in your community? Would this be something that could benefit the community where you live? Learn more about the Seattle Tool Library for ideas.
